Summary: Nice hotel with quirky rooms and public areas but let down disappointing service. Arrived at 2.20 and was told “Your room isn’t ready, check in is at 3.” Fair enough but I felt like I’d done something wrong for arriving 40 minutes early. Judging by the other people grumbling in the bar I wasn’t the only one who felt like this. On our second day we got back at 6.45 to find that the room hadn’t been made up. I went to tell reception, no apology and was told that the rooms were cleaned between 2pm and 8pm but she would let housekeeping know. Went back after 15 minutes as there was still no sign, still no apology. I’ve never stayed in a hotel where you don’t get your room cleaned until 8pm! When we checked out we didn’t get thanked or asked if we’d had a nice stay. This is the second time I’ve stayed here and I won’t be going back
